Texan Roots & Roll muso James McMurty arrives for inaugural tour of Europe with two dates in Ireland - Belfast & Dublin
Texas roots rocker James McMurtry (www.jamesmcmurtry.com) will play Whelan's on Tuesday 3rd February with full band that includes former Small Faces (who also toured with the Stones) keyboard player Ian McLagan (www.ianmclagan.com) The original Small Faces line-up was Steve Marriott, Ronnie Lane, Ian McLagan and Kenny Jones.

McMurtry won the Americana Award for song of the year 2007 with the anti-war penned 'We Can't Make It Here Anymore' - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTW0y6kazWM
He is the son of Pullitzer prize winning novelist Larry McMurtry who wrote Lonesome Dove and who also recently won an Academy award for his co-screenwriting adaptation of the Annie Proulx short story Brokeback Mountain.
